The Group was created in 2005, with the objective to develop activities that assist professionals working in the areas of water quantity management to be applied in irrigation, application of computational models aimed at Dynamics of water and solutes in the soil, physical analysis of the agricultural environment and elaboration and assembly of training courses and lectures (symposiums). The group activities involve the management of the amount of water to be applied to the crops: soil moisture estimation, use and application of tensiometers, solution extractors and salinity control in protected environments. It uses models capable of predicting the dynamics of water and solutes in the soil. In order to elucidate questions of financial aspects and possibility of environmental impacts, as well as, the monitoring of nutrient application in the soil, and implementation of systems and projects of Drainage. It uses the crop productivity computational simulation in the most diverse climate, soil and plant situations to evaluate the climatic variables effects on crops in protected environmentsss.
